Hinged & Fixed Glass
Planned around the entrance width, handle clearance, and safe movement of the door.
Scotch Plains & Fanwood, New Jersey
Custom frameless, hinged, and sliding shower doors for Scotch Plains and neighboring Fanwood—personally measured and installed by Ihor Boyar for the finished bathroom opening.
Two neighboring communities, one measurement-first service
Scotch Plains extends across more than nine square miles of residential neighborhoods, while Fanwood is a compact 1.3-square-mile borough with individual homes and a growing downtown residential area. In either community, shower glass must fit the finished opening rather than a standard-size kit.
Ihor checks the tile, curb pitch, wall alignment, nearby fixtures, and door clearance before recommending a hinged, corner, walk-in, or sliding layout.
Planned around the entrance width, handle clearance, and safe movement of the door.
A practical option when a vanity, toilet, or narrow aisle limits outward swing space.
3/8-inch or 1/2-inch tempered glass can be prepared to follow non-standard wall geometry.

Feedback about the installer behind the work
“Ihor was professional, reasonable and reliable. He did a terrific job and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and his team.”
“Igor did an amazing job with our shower doors. He was very professional and very precise with his work.”
These adjacent Union County municipalities share a school district and form one practical service area. Include the project address and bathroom photos so Ihor can review the configuration and next measurement step.
The finished opening determines the glass
Final measurement follows completed tile, walls, and curb so the entrance and nearby fixtures can be evaluated together.
Ihor reviews where a hinged door can open, nearby controls and towel bars, and whether the curb directs water inward. A U-channel beneath fixed glass is normally recommended for support and water management.
If an existing curb cannot be corrected, threshold details are discussed before approval. Clip-only installation is available by request but is not the standard recommendation.
A direct process with one responsible installer
Ihor remains involved from the first bathroom review through measurement, installation, and final door adjustment.
Send photos, video, and the Scotch Plains or Fanwood address for a free initial estimate and configuration review.
After the opening is ready, Ihor confirms wall geometry, curb conditions, clearances, glass, and hardware before the contract and 40–50% deposit.
Custom fabrication and tempering typically take 10–12 business days after approval. Some glass is ready in 5–6 days, but that shorter timing is not guaranteed.
Installation usually takes 1–1.5 hours for a simple enclosure or 2–3 hours for a complex one. Allow 24 hours before using the shower.
Hinged layouts need usable swing clearance outside the shower.
Sliding systems keep the entry within the plane of the opening.
Custom-cut panels can follow walls that are not perfectly plumb.
Clear, low-iron, colored glass, and hardware finishes are reviewed before approval.
The project does not end when the glass is set
The warranty covers approved hardware, seals and plastic components, silicone, and door adjustments. Service requests receive a prompt response.
During the first year, Go Glass covers 50% of the cost of the specific replacement glass panel—not half of an entire new installation.
Remove water with a squeegee after showering and use a mild cleaner such as Windex. Avoid Clorox and chlorine-based products around the glass and hardware.
Frequently asked questions
They are neighboring Union County communities that share a school district and function as one practical service area for Go Glass. Portfolio work can still be tagged to the individual project location.
Final measurement should take place after the tile, curb, and walls around the opening are complete. This lets Ihor measure the actual geometry and review curb pitch, fixtures, and door clearance.
A hinged door works when the entrance has safe swing clearance. A sliding system can be better when a vanity, toilet, or narrow aisle makes outward movement impractical. Ihor reviews both options against the finished opening.
Yes. Panels can be custom cut to follow out-of-plumb walls and non-standard geometry. The exact shape is established during final measurement before the glass is fabricated and tempered.
Wait 24 hours after installation before using the shower. This recommendation applies regardless of silicone brand so the installed seals have adequate time to set.
Send the project address plus photos or video of the opening, curb, nearby fixtures, and completed tile. Ihor can use them for the free initial review and explain what is needed before final measurement.
