Clear Swing Planning
Door width and opening direction are checked against fixtures and walking space.
Garwood, New Jersey
Custom frameless and sliding shower doors for Garwood bathrooms, measured to use the available opening efficiently and installed by Ihor Boyar.
A space-conscious plan for a compact borough
Garwood covers about 0.65 square miles between Cranford and Westfield and is largely built out with a mix of residential, commercial, and former industrial areas. In an established home, apartment, or renovated bathroom, the usable entrance may be affected by a vanity, toilet, towel bar, sloped curb, or wall that is not perfectly plumb.
Ihor measures after the tile and curb are complete, then plans the glass around those real conditions. A hinged door can provide a wide opening when swing space is clear; a sliding system keeps movement inside the opening; and a fixed or walk-in panel can simplify a layout when water control and entry width allow it.
Door width and opening direction are checked against fixtures and walking space.
Panels travel within the opening when an outward-swinging door is impractical.
Tempered glass follows the measured walls, curb, and approved enclosure shape.

Use the opening before adding more hardware
Clear glass and minimal framing can keep tile visible, but the enclosure still needs enough entry space, support, and water control.
A door should not collide with a vanity, toilet, or towel bar. Ihor compares a hinged entrance with sliding or fixed-panel alternatives before glass is ordered. The curb pitch and panel support are reviewed at the same time so space savings do not compromise daily use.
Go Glass normally sets fixed panels in U-channel. Clips are available by request when suitable, but U-channel remains the preferred support and water-management detail.
Decisions made in the right order
The process starts with available space, not with a preselected standard door.
Send wide photos or video showing the shower entrance and nearby fixtures for a free first review.
Ihor measures completed surfaces, selects the movement and hardware, and documents the scope before the contract and 40–50% deposit.
Fabrication and tempering normally take 10–12 business days. Some orders finish in 5–6 days, but that is not promised.
A simple enclosure takes about 1–1.5 hours; a complex one may need 2–3 hours. Keep the shower dry for 24 hours.
Sliding doors preserve floor clearance outside the shower.
Hinged doors require a safe, unobstructed opening path.
Custom glass compensates for walls that are not perfectly square.
A correctly pitched curb returns water toward the drain.
Practical support for an everyday fixture
The one-year warranty includes approved hardware, seals, plastic parts, silicone, and door adjustments.
If glass breaks during the first year, Go Glass pays 50% of the cost of that specific replacement panel.
Use a squeegee after showering and mild Windex-type cleaner. Avoid Clorox and other chlorine-based products.
Frequently asked questions
A sliding system avoids an outward door swing, while a carefully sized hinged door may still work when fixtures are clear. Ihor compares both choices with the finished Garwood bathroom.
Yes. Sliding bathtub doors, hinged arrangements, and fixed splash panels can be considered. The tub edge, wall geometry, plumbing position, and entry needs determine the practical option.
Yes. Custom glass can be cut for out-of-plumb walls and non-standard openings. Final dimensions are taken only after the surrounding tile and curb are complete.
Yes. Send photos and video showing the full entrance, curb, walls, and nearby fixtures. The initial review is free; an on-site final measurement follows when needed.
Wait 24 hours after installation. This gives silicone and sealing details time to set before the enclosure is exposed to water.
Tell Ihor about the bathroom, preferred enclosure, and Garwood project address. Photos and videos can help with the initial review before final measurement.
